I read a ton of Amazon reviews before I ever purchase, so I just wanted to put this out there. I can slide left and right on a workbook (top roller clicks side to side) as well as up and down the page. This mouse is tough, smooth and great in the hand.
I have one at my office desk for going on over 2 years now, and 2 at home (one for me, one for hubby). I spend hours using it for retouching (forget the Wacom). This mouse has been AMAZING.
It's really great for large hands since it is relatively large and has some weight to it. I only dock it to charge about once a week. I've never run out of juice or had to change the batteries.
It also is great for Excel. Don't hesitate to buy.
I don't use the extras much, but I reassigned the ZOOM button to close apps fast. Comfort is top notch.
MUCH better feel than the Microsoft models. Driver works almost flawlessly with XP.
Exceptional, as computer mice go. Battery life is fantastic and recharging is reasonably fast.
It occassionally doesn't load immediately, so I just wait a few seconds for my custom settings to work. That's only when switching between profiles though.
Quite perfect really. I only wish I could reassign the side wheel to operate audio volume instead.
This is a beautifully designed cordless mouse.It is accurate and has a strong transmitting signal.I bought one of these to replace my Microsoft Optical trackball. The reason I picked this mouse was the option of several programable buttons.I had to get use to moving the mouse around again after using my TrackBall.The first mouse had a battery problem and would not hold a charge.I had it replaced and the second mouse lasted about a year before the battery went out on it.By now Logitech had discontinued the MX Revolution.I tried the MX Performance mouse. It was just not the same. The look similar but function differently.The programable buttons are different and their functions are somewhat limited.Within a week the MX Performance malfunctioned and I took it back.I then found where I could buy the MX Revolution refurbished online and new in open box.I bought a couple for the two computers I have set up at home and one spare to leave sitting on the shelf for the future.Yes the in my opinion the MX Revolution is just that good.Until Microsoft develops a flawless, cordless TrackBall optical I will be using logitech mice.It would be nice if the software could be updated to allow the programable buttons more functions.The one sour note is the rechargeable battery is non replaceable by logitech.However you can find the batteries online.
A great mouse, but after just one month, the left button stop working, and the charger wouldn't charge, probably cause of bad wire. So in the garbage it went. How many stars overall. Zero.
I bought this mouse in Feb of '09 and was more pleased with it but in July I started getting a red blinking light when recharging. I contacted logitech support and they were more tahn happy to send out a replacement (fast shipping too). I was once again thrilled with this mouse.Unfortunately, yesterday (6 months after the replacement arrived) the dreaded red light returned. I've contacted Logitech for another replacement but I'm not thrilled with the fact that 2 separate units have serious battery issues.
